Grand opening of the flagship concept at L&T
Under the message “EXPERIENCE OUR BEST FOR YOUR SPORT”, L&T celebrated a grand opening event with its sports store on September 28, 2024 as one of the first four INTERSPORT flagship locations in Germany.
The event was attended by well-known athletes such as Olympic athletes Louisa Lippmann and Kira Walkenhorst.
In cooperation with brand partners Adidas, Puma and Columbia, customers were able to experience sport in all its different facets.
The sports store of the family business Lengermann & Trieschmann (L&T) stands for outstanding service, a comprehensive range of sports and an attractive product portfolio in the categories running, training, sports style, outdoor and winter sports on over 5,000 square meters in the region in and around Osnabrück. In the in-house fitness studio, the L&T City Gym, and with the indoor surf wave, the sports experience comes directly into the store.
At the opening event on September 28, 2024, the focus was on these special features of L&T under the message “EXPERIENCE OUR BEST FOR YOUR SPORT”.
Together with brand partners Adidas, Puma and Columbia, a diverse range of activities was put together: For example, the well-known world record holder Lukas Irmer performed a slackline show at a height of around 12 meters directly above the indoor surfing facility.
Afterwards, customers were able to try out the slackline for themselves under the guidance of the professional.
Furthermore, Olympic athletes Louisa Lippmann and Kira Walkenhorst were invited to the podium talk and gave exciting insights into their professional sport.
During the day, there were many other activities for young and old and special courses such as yoga, basketball and, in cooperation with Adidas, exclusive training sessions in the in-house gym.
Puma also organized a rowing challenge and customers had the chance to win VIP tickets for BVB Borussia Dortmund matches.
Thomas Ganter, Managing Director of L&T, draws a positive conclusion from the opening event: “We are certain that we were able to convey our sporting spirit to our customers with the wide range of offers and are delighted that the event program was so well received. As one of the INTERSPORT flagship locations, we will be able to provide our customers with further added value in the future through exclusive products and extraordinary experiences.”

There are very few other comparable sports stores in Europe that stand for sport experience in this form. Over 60 million euros will be invested in the INTERSPORT Group’s future course in the current and coming financial year: Over 35 million euros of this are investments by our retailers – a strong commitment to the INTERSPORT brand. We will continue to roll out our INTERSPORT flagship concept, the qualitative spearhead in sports retail, in attractive city locations at selected locations in the coming years.”
The INTERSPORT flagship concept: the special charisma
Sports stores can become part of the INTESPORT flagship concept if they fulfill the criteria for the new INTERSPORT logo. These include the special appeal of the regional brand, the brand awareness of the company, an exclusive location in city centers, a wide reach and a catchment area with supra-regional business activities. In addition, the sales area for the sports range in the flagship stores is at least 2,500 square meters. The retailers each stand for a comprehensive range and an attractive product portfolio in the running, training, sports style, outdoor and winter sports categories. Each retailer’s very special service promise includes holistic omnichannel retail concepts with regular sporting events and special experiences for all customers. The online and offline shopping experience at the INTERSPORT flagship stores is thus a special experience. A consistent sustainability concept of the companies completes the overall appearance. In addition to L&T in Osnabrück, engelhorn sports in Mannheim and Sport Reischmann in Kempten and Ravensburg are also part of the INTERSPORT flagship concept.
